A Day in the Life of Audrey Beebe

An Adventure in Pictures

Made it to Houston after a twelve hour trip on standby. Rora acted with all charm and decorum. Got to sample New York style pizza.
Showed the Davis girls the dolls made for them. Found out that Sadie has a personality on her. Everything was okay after a slight wardrobe change. Got to meet Jeff and see Anna again. Went shopping with 'the girls' and the babies. Left Rora's favorite blanket at the mall. Hmmmm, sleeping without the blankie should be fun. Was going to take pictures the next day when Ben was off work but he took the older girls to see the movie Bolt and it was too cold by the time he got back. Got to go grocery shopping.

Girl's Night Movie

Which has to include painting finger nails

Yeah! Doing the individual shots of the girls
Instead of trying to go somewhere we decided on the backyard

Marshmallows is the key to happy pictures. Took some family pictures when Ben came home. He makes a lot of faces. Another Girl's Night. How do you not cry in this movie!!

Got stuck in traffic while going to the airport. Missed the plane.

Went to the Cookie Exchange instead. Yum.
Left for the airport earlier the next day. Plane was delayed. Airports closing due to ice and snow. Trying to find a seat on standby right before Christmas. Finally made it home.

Anyone else want to visit?

Alright, so Audrey lost Rora's special blanket (I do keep calling!) and missed her first flight home and then had kind of a harrowing experience on the actual flight home but besides all of that we had a blast. I am always talking about The Beebe family but I had forgotten how much I really miss hanging out with Audrey until she actually got here. She is so incredibly talented and such a good mom. Her daughter is adorable (and intelligent!) Mostly she is one of those rare people who just make you feel good about yourself. I think we might have to make this a yearly thing.......in March :)

p.s. she is going to have to send me the pictures she took because I realized I don't have one of Rora. I think I kept borrowing her camera because it was so much better than mine.

Our Family Photo

Okay, so this isn't the most adorable picture we took but I think that it represents our family the best. Actually the pictures that Audrey Beebe took are gorgeous. She has a talent for somehow making all the kids photogenic....mostly using marshmallows. Stories and adorable pictures to follow!

How many candy canes can one child consume in a day?

Or more importantly, how many candy canes can three children consume in a day when you decide to be cheap (oops, I mean frugal) and not buy decorations for the tree but use candy canes instead. My children are playing Santa's helpers today and wrapping presents. It snowed the other day here in Houston (yes, we were all shocked!) and today it is a beautiful 40 something degrees. My kiddos were suppose to go to a Christmas party this morning but I got up early this morning and was practicing telling time with Eliora on our clock and then reset it to the wrong time. By the time I had figured it out we were an hour late and it takes an hour even get there so I decided it wasn't worth it. On the other hand...we are getting lots done!

Big Audrey and Little Audrey

In a week I have this amazing friend coming to take our family pictures (isn't that a great excuse!) and I should be getting all the stuff done around the house before she gets here but I am excited enough that it is making me a little scatterbrained so I decided to post all the things I want to do while she is here.

  • Girl's night complete with full manicures, pedicures, chocolate, and girl movies. (I'm thinking Pride and Prejudice or A Walk to Remember)
  • NASA
  • Zoo
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science complete with IMAX and butterfly exhibit
  • Christmas lights
  • lots of reminiscing about Mr. Plate and family, canoe trips where we had to carry the canoes, how Eliora use to get jealous of her around Enos, etc.
  • Fine Arts museum
  • Going out to a really good barbeque restaurant
  • Going to an opera, symphony, or play
  • Brazos Bend
  • Moody Gardens
  • Arboreteum
  • Lots of time with her daughter Rora so I can get to know her!
  • walk to the playground
  • Outlet malls
  • Taking her to the grocery store with me while Ben watches the kids so we can take our time, walk up and down all the aisles, and use coupons
  • Show off our new house
  • Make fudge, cookies, or something equally unhealthy
  • make chow mein while she stands there 'cause mine never tastes like hers!
  • Get her to say Y'all once spontaneously before she goes home.
Okay, in retrospect she is only here for four days and that includes the flying in and out so chances are we can't do everything I want to. Might have to save some of those day trips for another time.....unless I can sabatoge the plane.....

Just some cute ones

Rub a dub dub...four in the tub (can't wait till they are dating to show this one)

Ben's preschool shirt. Every kid so far has worn it as pajamas

I love Abbey in jeans. The video below is what Ben calls the 'diaper shuffle' and I call the 'butt scoot'. Abbey just doesn't crawl. She scoots.

Merry Christmas from Dustin. It's one of my favorites

Santa Clause’s sleigh might be a little late this year. Satellite movements over his compound in the North Pole have recently uncovered a massive arms facility masquerading as a toy workshop. Santa, who started his career as a kind toy maker that only wanted to bring joy to the children of the world, quickly realized that there was no money in it for retirement. So going where the money led him he started dabbling in prototype weapons made from candy canes that fire gumdrops at astounding speeds leaving their target sticky and in need of a nap. The weapon was to be called ‘the sugar shocker’ but was quickly put off the production line because the market had just been flooded with the new IHOP ‘rooty tooty point and shooty assault rifle.’ Not to be stopped by his first failed attempt Santa began anew. He sought out new clients and started trade negotiations with the Leprechaun League Liberation front. They where a small organization but made up for it with literal buckets of gold. That’s when Santa put out one of his best sellers ‘The Christmas cheer’ side loaded shoulder mounted gingerbread bazooka. Upon being shot with this decorative, limited edition, individually numbered explosive, a target is filled with a warm sensation coupled with an urge to buy things at ridiculous prices and start singing off tune in the freezing cold. His profits soared and he was able to put more items on the black market such as the ‘chimney to chimney teleportation pad’, the ‘know when you are sleeping GPS tracker’, and ‘the Naughty list’ a virtual who’s who of people in the underside of society (and Jimmy who won't stop pulling Sally’s hair). Not to worry though. There is a raid planned on the facility in the North Pole for late December as it seems that he is gearing up for a big shipment. They aren’t worried about the fat man escaping since they captured one of his rein deer team and implanted him with a red glowing tracking device. The assault team is also looking into child labor laws being violated since it seems that everyone in the factory is less than 4 feet tall and it seems to be visited once a year by a band of misfit kids that are trying to save Christmas. So by the end of the month after the tear gas settles the world will be a safer place knowing that one of the oldest arms dealers is put safely away behind bars. Merry Christmas everyone.
