Her Litter

Tiffany Ivanovsky has a big adorable patriotic family and she has a blog to prove it. She has been nominated for the Scholastic blog award and if you go and vote her blog will be featured in Parent Magazine. Seeing as she is my sister-in-law and her kids are some of my favorite people on earth I really, really need you to go and vote! Her blog is named My Litter

Amazing, as always

Today we got a package in the mail from one of the most amazing people I know. In it were four adorable 'pillow' dresses, a bag of dark chocolate kisses (who knows me?) and a bag of butterfingers. Of course, if it is sewing, it has to be made by Audrey Beebe. That would be amazing enough but upon further inspection (okay, it didn't really take us long to discover this) the dresses perfectly match the dresses of the dolls she made us for Christmas. How cute is that!!

Techies to the rescue!

Today I finally had a techie come over to my house and in two minutes fix my internet problem that we have been having for about 9 months. In honor of this great man I am posting this. It HAS to be sung to the song I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General (Pirates of Penzance). I will try to post the song so you can hear the tune.

I am the very model of a modern major techie guy
I work on computers all day and night trying to make them not die
I know the codes of sql, java, php, and the language of the internet.
Which makes my humor sometimes socially inept
And when I ROFL on the floor at something that I have just seen
I log on to Facebook, mail, and my blog, to link the screen
I am a geek so proudly and hope that you would join our ranks
Otherwise we’ll mock you Noob hold on a sec I have to tank
So what I am saying might sound somewhat weird to you
But I love my geekdom it’s not just a job I have to do
I logic out the problems that would probably make your head explode
And yes restart your computer and your outlook will surely load
Now I have to code a while to make something that you did alright
Don’t worry ‘bout the overtime I don’t really sleep at night
As long as managers continue to act this way I know I’m great
I’ll have job security for I have their mistakes on my plate
My schedules full for now and it won’t change anytime soon
Because I have all the passwords and that would spell their doom
It is so great to be a modern major techie guy
And if you piss me off I’ll hack the nukes and we all will die
So be nice to your IT they know your secretes in and out
We read your email listen to your calls so please have no doubt
We could destroy you but we choose to sit quietly
We need these paychecks to pay the WOW subscription fees
So have no fear your safe from all us modern major techie guys
As long as you leave us alone we’ll promises to make it look like we try.

A Present from ME to YOU!

I saw this on Melissa's blog and thought that it was super cute!!! So here we go!!!

The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

* 1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
* 2. What I create will be just for you.
* 3. It'll be done this year (hopefully sooner than later.)
* 4. You will have no clue what it is going to be.
* 5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange (can we just say... muahahaha)

The catch? Oh the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me you did will win a marvelous homemade gift by me! And I have to be able to contact you somehow! So! There!

Ben's Birthday!! February 13, 2009

Someday it will be a national holiday, and not one of those lumped together ones like President's Day but an actual Ben Davis, everyone get off work and school unless you work someplace I need that day like the gas station or grocery store, kind of holiday. (Whew, long sentence). Anyhow, here is a list of 10 things about Ben that some of you may not know.

1. Ben was born in Wisconsin
2. He does not like chocolate but he likes chocolate covered cherries
3. He wants to live on a hammock in Fiji someday or be the dictator of a third world country...you know, whichever comes first
4. He is OCD about some things like washing his hands and brushing his teeth
5. He frequently washes our floor
6. He wants a motorcycle
7. He also wants to take flying lessons, continue boxing lessons, write a book, get into model airplanes, camp at least twenty days or more this year, learn another language, get an english bulldog, and the list goes on and on....
8. He is afraid of dogs
9. He frequently dreams about killing people (CIA kind of stuff...I think)
10. Some of his favorite books growing up were Siddhartha, Green Mansions, and anything by Ann Rand

So if you get a chance give him a call and wish him Happy Birthday or feel free to post something you know about Ben.

God Bless Texas

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/20808/

This is an article to Glenn Beck who despite being a little doom and gloom is one of my favorite guys to listen to. He is not from Texas but a wrote an article on the spirit of Texas the other day. I had to admit while reading it, Texans may be somewhat arrogant but they are proud of their country. For example, in our neighborhood flags fly for everything. The girls have a game where we walk around and count them. President's Day we went around the block and they got up to twenty before getting distracted. I can't wait for the fourth of July.
