Merry Christmas!

This year I made cards....I really did!! However, when the cards arrived there was a wierd thing with the typing so that all my apostraphes and such looked like wierd symbols. The company credited back the money spent and I know I really should get on it and send out cards late but let's face it, I probably won't. So, instead of Christmas cards I will hopefully be sending out beautiful Valentine's cards and in the meantime enjoy the pictures that my awesome SIL took of our family this year!

It's an old family recipe.

Usually when I make fudge I use the recipe on the marshmallow cream jar. Sometimes it is beautiful, creamy, and delicious. Sometimes it's a little grainy. Then my mom gave me a recipe for homemade marshmallow cream. Holy goodness! Fudge took on a whole new dimension. A few days ago however I was at the store staring at the take home kit of fudge. How easy, how flawless. Maybe not as decadent and delicious as homemade fudge but well enough to eat and so much easier to put on plates for neighbors when Christmas is approaching and the to do list just keeps getting longer. So today I caved and busted out the fudge kit. I put in the ingredients and set it to a boil. I set the timer. I stirred. I didn't bother with the candy thermometer (not needed with a super easy take home fudge kit). I added the marshmallows that resembled super large tic tacs. I added the chocolate chips and I stirred. Then I stirred some more. Then I started to panic. My super easy flawless fudge was resembling ground cornmeal. Large tic tac marshmallows were not melted. So I did what only a true gal in the kitchen would do. I stirred in a little more evaporated milk, melted the whole thing, and stuck it in the blender. Poured into mason jar with a cute label and a bow tie it will go to an unsuspecting neighbor. When they ask me for my homemade fudge sauce recipe I will tell them politely that I could not possibly give it away, it's an old family recipe.

The Anniversary Cruise

Why oh why. We have about three million pics of our eleven year anniversary cruise but somehow I cannot seem to find the cord that plugs in the printer that lets me install my camera card to download. Since trips are always more memorable to the people involved than everyone else however I will give you this.

Basically we ate ourselves silly, stayed up late, slept in, went ziplining in Jamaica, snorkeling in the Cayman Islands, and shopping in Mexico. Ben and I came back reconnected after spending months away from each other and we got to reconnect with old friends who we never once got tired of. Basically, it was awesome.

Playing Catch-Up - Audrey's Baptism

Alrighty.....since I basically use this blog as an excuse for my journal I thought I would chronicle the major events one day at a time. Hopefully by the weekend I will be caught up! So...starting in September,

This beautiful girl was baptized. It is tradition in our family to go shopping for the white dress. It was an awesome day with Grandma Davis, Aunt Anna, the older sis Eliora, and Anna's cutie Tristan.

Wedding dress shops for white dresses are the best, cause they have 3 way mirrors.

Dang I was seeing the future that day!

And of course we had to go out to lunch after. Good thing we are serious about the whole thing!

Ben gave an amazing talk on baptism. Honestly, he completely put down the notes and just spoke. I wish I could have recorded it. Thanks to everyone who came, it was a very special day.
